Head Instructor Master Brandon Fraser Head Instructor Master Brandon Fraser

Brandon Fraser is the Head Instructor for Island Martial Arts Centers in Sydney, Glace Bay and Sydney River. Brandon began his Taekwondo training at age 4 and received his black belt at age 12. Brandon began teaching at Island Martial Arts in 2000 and holds the rank of 5th Degree Black Belt.

Brandon has competed in many local provincial national and international tournaments and is a qualified Taekwondo Coach. Brandon and has received the Sport Nova Scotia Award for Coaching in 2008 and has been appointed as the Nova Scotia Taekwondo Coach for the Canadian National Team in 2011.

Master Keith MacNeil Master Keith MacNeil

Keith grew up in Whitney Pier and started Tae Kwon Do in 1992 and trained under Master Carabin. Keith began training and instructing at Island Martial Arts Center Sydney location in 2008. He is also the instructor for Island Martial Arts Weapons Program that began in 2009. Currently Keith is a 5th Dan Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do and also holds ranks in aikido and various other Martial Arts.

Instructor Jayla Bruce Instructor Jayla Bruce

Meet Jayla Bruce. Jayla is an assistant instructor at the Island martial arts center sydney school. She is a 14 years old student at sydney academy and has been training for approx 8 years. She received her black belt in 2014 under the direction of Grandmaster Chong Lee. She is also part of the competition team and has traveled to nationals as well as many many provincial and local competitions to compete. She dedicates her time over 5 days a week assisting and teaching the younger students as well as being an inspiration for other students.
